Japanese Tank Division Exercises with Type 90 tanks

Japan continues to improve its military capability, amid tension with China.

Some time ago the Japanese found the Chinese ship trying to break into Sinkaku disputed islands also claimed by China.

After the previous joint exercises, now Japan Ground Self-Defense Force (JGSDF) exercises mobilized armored divisions with Type 90 tanks, to perform simulations of war in the winter.

The Type 90 tank  is the main battle tank (MBT) of the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force (JGSDF) as of 2014. It was designed and built by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries as a replacement for all deployed Type 61 and Type 74 tanks, and entered service in 1990. It is to be superseded by the Type 10 tank.
