Belarus repairs Tu-134UBL training combat aircraft of Russian Navy

Belarus-based “Minsk Plant of Civil Aviation № 407” take part in a programme of Tu-134UBL training combat aircraft repair & overhaul for the Russian Naval Aviation.

In social media were released images showing the Tu-134UBL (also known as Tu-134A-4) training combat aircraft (RF-12037) of the Russian Navy at the JSC “Minsk Plant of Civil Aviation № 407” in Minsk, Belarus.

The Tu-134UB is a training combat aircraft designed by the Tupolev experimental design bureau in the 70-80s. It is a conversion of  Tu-134B airliners used to train pilots and navigators of  Tu-160 and Tu-22M3 bombers. The Tu-134UBL were produced at the Kharkiv aviation factory in Ukraine. In general, there were made 90 units of such planes.

The training combat aircraft had a new nose containing a bombers radar, increasing the overall length by nearly 5 m. to 41.92 m., although the aircraft’s handling characteristics remained unchanged. The Tu-134UBL’s cabin console containing bomb-sight displays for up to twelve pupils, and under-wing racks fitted for the carriage of training bombs.

Minsk Plant of Civil Aviation No. 407 has more than 45 years of experience. At present, the company repairs Tu-134, Yak-40, Yak-42 and Yak-52 aircraft and also western aircraft, like Boeing, Airbus, and CRJ.
