A presentation of modernized weapons took place at the proving ground of the Armed Forces of Ukraine

President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko, Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Oleksandr Turchynov, Minister of Defense of Ukraine Stepan Poltorak, the commander of the National Guard of Ukraine Yuriy Allerov, Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Viktor Muzhenko and heads of power structures took part in the presentation of new and modernized samples of weapons, military equipment, automated missile and artillery fire control systems at the proving ground near Divychky village in Kyiv region.

During military exercises, the effective use of anti-tank missile systems “Stugna” and “Corsar” as well as of powerful self-propelled guns “Pion” was demonstrated.

According to NSDC Secretary Oleksandr Turchynov, during the training conducted at the proving ground, Ukrainian artillery demonstrated “high efficiency, rapid deployment and accurate firing of the targets”. “It took the powerful artillery units a little more than 10 minutes to reach fighting positions, to cause fire damage to a hypothetical enemy and to leave the firing spot”, – he noted.

“Modern means of communication, automated control systems combined with computer technologies and unmanned aerial vehicles allow us to use potent weapons very efficiently, as it was demonstrated during the application of powerful self-propelled guns “Pion” that professionally fulfilled the tasks during the exercises”, – NSDC Secretary stated.
