Turkish firm unveils next-gen weapon systems

Turkish defense manufacturer Sarsılmaz has unveiled a new family of advanced weapon systems at the IDEF 2025 defense exhibition in Istanbul.

The company, with nearly 150 years of engineering and manufacturing experience, showcased several innovations aimed at enhancing firepower across land and air platforms.

Among the highlights at the Sarsılmaz stand was the Dual UKSS remote-controlled weapon system, which integrates both 25mm and 7.62mm calibers.

The company also introduced ATAK, an automated turret equipped with a 20mm cannon designed for aerial platforms. The turret’s NATO-standard 20x102mm cannon delivers a firing rate of 750 rounds per minute, using a rotary barrel mechanism optimized for servo-controlled operation and electric ignition. The system’s muzzle velocity reaches 1,049 meters per second, enabling extended range and precision.

Together, these firms represent what Sarsılmaz describes as an “integrated defense ecosystem,” covering domains from kinetic weapons to AI-enabled systems.

The company is expected to unveil additional products at IDEF 2025, including solutions developed in response to operational feedback and evolving combat environments.

Sarsılmaz has also expanded its training infrastructure through the SARSILMAZ Academy, which offers programs for civilian and professional users, led by retired military personnel.
