North Korea unveils new wheeled tank destroyer

During a recent visit to the Academy of Defense Science, North Korean leader Kim Jong Un inspected various weapon system models, including a new wheeled tank destroyer.

The new combat vehicle, resembling the Chinese-made ST1 8×8 tank destroyer, is based on the 8×8 M-2020 armored personnel carrier. It features a 105mm rifled gun, a 12.7mm coaxial machine gun, and a 7.62mm machine gun installed in a remote-controlled turret.

This tank destroyer is likely designed to enhance the firepower and mobility of North Korea’s rapid deployment forces, targeting enemy tanks and bolstering the overall combat effectiveness of its units.
