Photos: Pakistan’s pilot takes part in test flight of new JF-17B fighter

For the first time, a Pakistani pilot took part in a test flight of new JF-17B dual-seater multi-role fighter jet.

A dual-seat variant of the JF-17 Thunder fighter jet co-developed by the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) and China is currently entering the testing phase and this is the first time when Pakistani pilot takes part in flight.

Production of the first JF-17B was initiated by Pakistan and China during a joint ceremony at Chengdu Aerospace Corporation last year.

The JF-17B features structural and flight control improvements, compared to the single seat JF-17 fighter.The JF-17B is slated to boost the operational and training capabilities of the PAF.

According to AVIC, the 14.26 m long JF-17B has an increased wingspan of 9.465 m compared to the single seat version’s 8.5 m wingspan, and a reduced height of 4.598 m.
