The United State administration has approved the sales of eight Lockheed Martin F-16C/D Block 52 Fighting Falcon combat aircraft to Pakistan.
The potential deal worth USD699 million was announced the US’ Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA) on 12 February 2016.
The possible foreign military sale to Pakistan includes six F-16D Block-52 aircraft and two F-16C Block-52 aircraft equipped with Northrop Grumman AN/APG-68(V)9 radar system, the Pratt & Whitney F100-PW-229 engine, a joint helmet mounted cueing system (14 units were requested by Pakistan) and Exelis ALQ-211(V)9 AIDEWS (Advanced Integrated Defensive Electronic Warfare Suite) electronic warfare system.
