US and Canada joint mission to perform an observation flight over Russia

According to Sergei Ryzhkov, Chief of the National Centre for reducing nuclear danger, the US and Canada joint mission is to perform an observation flight over Russia on February 29 – March 5 from Khabarovsk (Novy) airfield onboard American observation aircraft OS-135B within the Treaty on Open Skies.

In course of the flight following the conformed route, Russian and specialists onboard the observation aircraft will control strict adherence to the conformed flight configuration and application of equipment provided for by the Treaty.

ОС-135В observation aircraft is referred to the aircraft class not intended for using any weapons. The aircraft and installed observation equipment (aerial surveying camera) were internationally certified with participation of Russian specialists, thus it eliminates using of any technical equipment not provided for by the Treaty.
