Ukraine says it hit Russian landing ship in Feodosia

Ukraine said it “destroyed” a Russian landing ship that was in a Russian-occupied port in Feodosia.

In the early hours of December 26th, tactical aircraft of the Ukrainian Air Force launched missile strikes targeting the Russian Black Sea Fleet’s large landing ship “Novocherkassk” in the port of Feodosia, as reported by the Air Force through Telegram.

Air Force spokesperson Yuriy Ignat, speaking to “Radio Svoboda,” indicated that the destruction of such a vessel required the launch of “clearly not just one missile” due to the possibility of the enemy’s interception of cruise missiles.

Furthermore, he noted that the significant explosion observed aboard the hostile ship indicated it wasn’t a mere “minor incident” but likely the detonation of ammunition. Ignat highlighted that the large landing ship was used for transporting military equipment, armaments, and personnel.

The Ministry of Defense of Russia confirmed that on the night of December 26th, Ukrainian Armed Forces used missiles fired from Su-24 aircraft to strike the significant landing vessel “Novocherkassk” in Feodosia, Crimea.

The Russian Ministry of Defense claims to have neutralized two Ukrainian Su-24 aircraft engaging in missile launches during an anti-aircraft battle. However, this assertion appears dubious in light of multiple videos and photos emerging from the explosion site.

Yuriy Ignat refuted the Russian claims regarding the two alleged downed Ukrainian Su-24s, adding that “the Russians have long been ‘destroying’ even F-16s” in their reports. It’s known that Ukraine has not yet received these fighter jets.
