Ukraine is looking to launch licensed production of amphibious armoured personnel carriers in Indonesia

Ukraine’s state-owned defence holding UkrOboronProm is looking to launch a licensed production of BTR-4M amphibious armoured personnel carriers in Indonesia.

In September , the Indonesian Marine Corps has taken delivery of the first batch of new Ukrainian BTR-4M amphibious  armoured personnel carriers. The ship MV Texel carrying five units of new BTR-4M amphibious armoured personnel carriers arrived at the dock port of Tanjung Priok in Indonesia on September 28. Official acceptance of the first five vehicles is scheduled for the end of 2016.

The BTR-4M is a Ukrainian amphibious armoured personnel carrier, manufactured by the Kharkov Morozov Machine Building Plant for the Indonesian Marines Corps.

The new version of BTR-4M have Deutz engine and received the upgrade package giving it fully amphibious capabilities. The APC is powered by a diesel engine that provides a road speed of 85 km/h, a swimming speed of 12 km/h. The BTR-4M has an operational range of 700 km.
