U.S. Army orders $45 million of explosive

Pentagon, through its U.S. Army Contracting Command, has awarded Accurate Energetic Systems LLC and Spectra Technologies LLC a contract for supply explosive.

The contract, announced Thursday by the U.S. Department of Defense, is worth more than $45 million for Trinitrotoluene and plastic bonded explosive N-9.

“Bids were solicited via the internet with four received. Work locations and funding will be determined with each order, with an estimated completion date of March 6, 2024,” said in a statement.

Meanwhile, Accurate Energetic Systems is a US-based independent small business providing Bulk Explosives, Load, Assembly Pack, Melt-Pour and other custom energetic devices. The company specialize in manufacturing high explosive formulations, melt cast charges and demolition products for Aerospace, Defense and commercial markets.

The facility of the AES is situated on a 1300 acre site, with full laboratory and test range capability. The production facility consists of five purpose built production buildings and a quality lab for product evaluation and analysis. All manufacturing facilities are environmentally controlled.

Spectra Technologies is a small business that delivering a full load, assemble, and pack services, ordnance manufacturing, warheads, grenades, ammunition, demolition products and ordnance design, testing and general “work for others” manufacturing services.
