STREIT Group showcases Scorpion armoured personnel carrier at Milipol 2017

The STREIT Group, a Canadian armoured vehicle manufacturer, has showcased Scorpion armoured personnel carrier (APC) during the Milipol 2017 exhibition in Paris.

According to the company, Scorpion APC is a Mine Resistant Ambush Protected Vehicle which has been designed for tactical response teams and can be configured for a multitude of military applications. It is designed to offer high survivability for tactical response teams and special forces units, and can be configured for use in a range of military applications.

The advanced V Shape Hull design of Scorpion incorporates a high ground clearance and acute turning circle, allowing for a superior off-road capability.The Scorpion is fully armored to STANAG 4569 Level 2 and is able to withstand blast effects from mines and IED attacks.

The vehicle can be integrated with add-on armour for high levels of protection against 7.62mm × 51mm calibre armoured piercing rounds fired from a distance of 30m at a speed of 930m/s.

The Scorpion vehicle is powered by a Cummins six-cylinder ISBE 6.7L turbocharged diesel engine. The power-plant develops a maximum power output of 300hp at 1,500rpm and torque of 1,100Nm at 1,500rpm.

The vehicle was unveiled for the first time in 2012 during the defense exhibition in Paris, Eurosatory.
