Lazar 8x8 multi-role armored vehicles

The Serbian Ministry of Internal Affairs has received new equipment and vehicle, includes the Lazar 8×8 multi-role armored vehicles.

On 25 March 2017 a ceremony for new law enforcement officers was held in front of the Serbia Palace.

The ceremony was attended by Prime Minister Aleksandar Vučić, Speaker of the National Assembly Maja Gojković, Minister of Internal Affairs Nebojša Stefanović, Minister of Defense Zoran Đorđević, Minister of Labor, Employment, Veteran and Social Policy Aleksandar Vulin, Mayor of Belgrade Siniša Mali, Belgrade City Manager Goran Vesić, Director of Jugoimport-SDPR J.P. Jugoslav Petković, Deputy Director of Jugoimport-SDPR J.P. Branislav Prostran and other dignitaries.

A march-past of 1.100 police officers from various units of the Ministry of Internal Affairs was followed by a fleet of police vehicles, including seven Lazar 8×8 multi-role armored vehicles, ten 4×4 BOV vehicles and one Miloš 4×4 multi-role armored vehicle.

Lazar is a family of armored 8×8 wheeled vehicles designed for various applications and missions.

The power train is accommodated in the front right-side of the vehicle in a protected space completely separated from the crew. The central transfer case transmits the torque to all wheels that have independent suspension and provide for the vehicle’s high mobility. All the shafts provide power, while the first two steer the wheels.
