Senegal orders Ejder Yalcin 4×4 armoured vehicles

The Senegalese gendarmerie has awarded a contract to Turkey’s private defence company Nurol Makina (Nurol Machinery) to supply Ejder Yalcin 4×4 armoured vehicles and Ejder Toma riot control vehicles.

The Senegalese gendarmerie is a military force which provides policing and security. It includes a Territorial Gendarmerie with general policing duties, and a Mobile Gendarmerie for special tasks and serious public disorder.

According to the signed contract, Tukey’s company will deliver the first batch of the Ejder Yalcin and Ejder Toma vehicles in March and the second delivery in April or May. At the moment, Senegalese security officers trained at the facilities of Nurol Machinery for the use of this vehicles.

At the Senegal gendarmerie’s request, the new vehicles are equipped with open turrets.

The Ejder Yalcin is an armored combat vehicle is developed to meet the operational requirements of military units and security forces in every region including rural and urban areas. The vehicle is primarily intended for use by Turkish military and security forces. The Ejder Yalçin vehicle features a V-shaped hull design, integrating floating floor plates and blast mitigation seating to provide protection against mines and improvised explosive devices (IED). The vehicle features an ergonomic and comfortable seating layout, which can accommodate up to 11 personnel.

The Ejder Toma is a riot control vehicle designed for the security forces to interfere quickly and effectively against the civil disobedience. The vehicle has been developed to maintain public order and security in rural and urban areas as well as border regions with its high off-road performance.
