Russian missile brigade alerted as part of readiness examination

Russia’s Ministry of Defence (MoD) announced on 11 April that the Missile brigade, that operating Iskander mobile short-range ballistic missile system, alerted as part of readiness examination in Jewish Autonomous Oblast.

According to the MoD’s announceas part of the complex examination for the winter training period, units of the missile brigade stationed in the Jewish Autonomous Oblast, Eastern Military District, have been alerted.

Missile units are conducting a march to the assigned areas under electronic warfare conditions.

Remember that the Iskander (Nato: SS-26 Stone) is a tactical ballistic missile system being manufactured by the Federal State Unitary Enterprise, Design Bureau of Machine Building, for the Russian ground forces.

The Iskander mobile missile system can engage ground targets such as command posts and communications nodes, troops in concentration areas, air and missile defence facilities, as well as fixed and rotary-wing aircraft at airfields.
