Russia claims it found Airbus drone downed in the Black Sea

Russia claims that one small unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) discovered near the Black Sea in the vicinity of Anapa.

“On Sunday, in the region of the Blagoveshchenskaya spit near the coast was discovered and raised by  Airbus Direct Target drone. Currently installed its origin, purpose and circumstances of the fall in the sea, “- reported by Interfax.ru.

In social networks appeared photos of drone about 2 meters in length on the jet thrust bearing and with number 646, and the mark “A06”.

This drone is an unmanned aerial vehicle developed by Dornier GmbH, a corporate unit of Airbus Group. The Dornier GmbH company has developed a family of jet-powered target drones designed to the enhanced air threat simulation requirements of the armed forces.

The target drone, powered by jet engine, has been designed for training with short-range air defence systems, providing a high manoeuvrability with excellent visual and infrared detection. The drone meets the requirements for complex threat simulation with radar-guided weapons. Besides optical, radar, infrared and laser reflectors, the drones can be equipped with the Dornier hit indicators SETA-2 and SETA-3. Airbus IFF and EW systems can also be employed.
