Royal Malaysian Air Force MB-339CM training aircraft crashes in Pekan

A Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF) training aircraft crash landed in a paddy field in Nenasi, near here this afternoon. that reported nst.com.my.

The Aermacchi MB339CM aircraft was in the midst of a training flight when it encountered technical difficulties.

The two crewmen ejected to safety prior to the crash. However, one of them sustained a broken leg. RMAF, in a brief statement, said the aircraft, based in the Kuantan airbase, had experienced technical difficulties mid-flight at 12.54pm. “Both the crew members are reported to be safe after they deployed the ejection seats,”

The Aermacchi MB-339 is an Italian military trainer and light attack aircraft. It was developed as a replacement for the earlier MB-326.
