Poland starts pilot training on M-346 Master trainer aircraft

Polish pilot-instructors of 4th Training Wing Squadron have commenced flights with the new M-346 Master trainer aircraft at Poland’s Deblin base, the Ministry of National Defence Republic of Poland announced on 16 January.

The first flight on the Polish M-346 trainer aircraft was made by Cpt. Miroslaw Kopeć accompanied by an Italian pilot at the 41st AF Training Base.

Poland will begin a new stage in aviation training according to the most modern in system in the world and on aircraft best integrated with this system, the M-346 Master.

The M-346 Master is an advanced and lead-in fifth-generation fighter trainer developed by Leonardo. Poland – in total – ordered 8 examples of M-346A jets. The contract, the value of which is contained in an amount of PLN 1,167 million, besides the aircraft, also includes the logistics package, spare parts and technical support and consumables, along with an IT support suite and full technical documentation, has been signed back in February 2014.
