Pilot killed in Su-27 fighter crash in Ukraine

A pilot has been killed in a Su-27 fighter jet crash in Ukraine on 15 December, said in the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

According to a statement of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, on Dec. 15, 2018, at around 3 p.m., the Su-27 fighter jet crashed on landing while making training mission.

The pilot was killed in the crash.

No further details were immediately available.

According to the Ukrainian Air Force spokesman, the Su-27 fighter crashed while attempting to land at the Ozerne Air Combat Air Patrol mission.

The Ukrainian Air Force said the accident would be investigated.

It was the second fatal crash of Ukrainian Air Force’s Su-27 fighter jet this year.  On October, a Ukrainian Su-27UB fighter aircraft crashed near the village of Ulaniv, which is situated approximately 185 miles southwest of the Ukranian capital Kyiv, during Clear Sky 2018 exercises, killing both pilots.
