Pakistan Army orders new Cessna MedEvac planes

Cessna 208 Caravan

Cessna Aircraft has been awarded a foreign military sales contract worth $14 million to supply two Cessna 208B Grand Caravan EX aircraft and four Cessna T-206H Stationair aircraft to Pakistan.

Contractor will provide two new Cessna 208B Grand Caravan EX aircraft modified for aeromedical evacuation, and four new Cessna T-206H Stationair aircraft modified for aeromedical evacuation, according to the statement.

The Cessna 208 Caravan is a single-engined turboprop, fixed-tricycle landing gear, short-haul regional airliner and utility aircraft that is built in the United States by Cessna. The airplane typically seats nine passengers with a single pilot, although with a FAR Part 23 waiver it can seat up to fourteen passengers. The aircraft is also used for cargo feederliner operations.

The Cessna T-206H model — is outfitted with the Lycoming TIO-540 310 hp engine with completely automatic wastegate for ease of operation and built-in overboost protection. The combination of lots of power and lots of drag gives you about 125 knots true at just over 18 gph, plenty fast for crawling from lake to lake and plenty powerful to haul a big load in the process.
