The Tamandare class corvette is a new fighting ship equipped with latest weapon systems. The corvettes should displace 2,790 metric tons, with 103.4 m length, 12.8 m width, and a top speed of 25 knots. Acquiring the corvettes is one of the Brazilian Navy’s top priorities, along with developing new conventional and nuclear-powered submarines.
