Turkish Aerospace company has released video of the first flight of its new twin-engine medium-altitude, long-endurance (MALE) unmanned aerial vehicle.
On 21 March, Turkish arms maker released footage showed the new ANKA-AKSUNGUR MALE unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) in flight.
A twin-engine version of ANKA UAV with high load capacity at medium altitude has flown for 4 hours 20 minutes. UAV is powered by TUSAŞ Engine Industries (TEI) PD170 engine.
At this moment, full specifications, including weight, the device has not been disclosed.
According to the current information, the new Turkish UAV should have a payload mass of 750 kg (including armament), a working ceiling of 40 thousand feet (12,000 m) and a flight duration of more than 24 hours.
The UAV is equipped with a useful reconnaissance load of Turkish production (the lead developer is the Aselsan company) and a satellite communications system via the Turkish TURKSAT satellites.
