A Koalitsiya-SV prototype, mounted on a modified T-72/90 tracked chassis, was unveiled during the Victory Day military parade in Moscow in May 2015.

The first batch of 12 units was delivered to the Russian Armed Forces in March 2015. The Russian Army’s Western Military District (ZVO) artillery units are expected to receive 2S35 Koalitsiya-SV weapon systems in 2016.

The Koalitsiya-SV has an automatic targeting and charge selection system. The vehicle has a remotely controlled weapon station, armed with a 12.7-mm machine gun. It can be used for self-defense against air and ground targets.

The primary weapon is a 152mm 2A88 cannon, equipped with a muzzle brake and a recoil system. Ammunition capacity of the self-propelled gun is 50 to 70 shells and the maximum firing range is approximately 70km. An automatic loader with pneumatic rammer allows the cannon to fire up to eight rounds a minute.
