Concern Kalashnikov plans to unveil a new “Soratnik” (In English – Comrade)  unmanned combat vehicle at the military-technical forum «Army 2016».

The “Soratnik” is a remotely controlled robot unit is armed with Kalashnikov rifles. It’s equipped with optical-electronic and radio reconnaissance locators, which enable the Russian robot to perform combat tasks during the night without unmasking itself.

The new unmanned combat vehicles  developed  on the Russian Ministry of Defense`s order. The “Soratnik” is intended for fire support, intelligence, security, patrol, mine clearance and obstacle clearing operations.

Director General of Kalashnikov Concern, Alexey Krivoruchko, said that the new machine is equipped with a computer control system, hidden radio communication, as well as observation and detection systems. The machine can also be equipped with a combat unit. The armored vehicle will also be able to operate in conjunction with other automated combat units, including Zala Aero UAVs.

Concern Kalashnikov is the largest Russian manufacturing company that produces assault and sniper rifles, guided artillery projectiles and a wide range of precision weapons. The major part of the civilian products includes hunting shotguns, sporting rifles, various machines and tools.

The Concern contains three brands: “Kalashnikov” (combat and civilian weapons)”, “Baikal” (hunting and civilian guns), and “Izhmash” (sporting rifles), also the Concern is developing new business lines that include remote weapon stations, unmanned aerial vehicles and multi-functional special-purpose boats.
