Colombia could buy 44 M1128 Mobile Gun System vehicles to replace Cascavel EE-9 fleet. The Colombian Army will replace the armored reconnaissance over EE-9 Cascavel wheels, fitted with 90 mm cannon, the brand new LAV III 8 × 8, equipped with a 105 mm artillery piece.

The LAV III, 17 tonnes, is produced by terrestrial systems division of American business group General Dynamics. Its design was first developed in the early 1990s, when the Brazilian car Cascavel, 11 tons, had completed more than 15 years of success in the international market for light armored vehicles.
