A.Drones unveil Watchbird fully autonomous drone system

A.Drones, a leading Ukrainian provider of tactical robotic systems, has unveiled its new automated aerial solution that consists of a multi-rotor aerial vehicle and a mobile base station for recharging and sheltering the autonomous drone.

The new system, called the Watchbird, is a portable, completely automatic and operated aerial system.

The Watchbird platform enables operators to run missions autonomously to monitor, inspect, survey, and secure large strategic sites. On completion of mission it returns to its mobile base station – a highly secure enclosed weather-proof module, stationed in the field – where automated post flight checks and fast battery charging is completed, ensuring the drone is primed for the next mission.

The autonomous system provides storing and controlling the flight of an unmanned aerial vehicle. The drone-port system maintains the required temperature, humidity inside, monitors the surrounding weather conditions and the battery level.

The drone’s dual sensor payloads allow for video streaming, recorded video, imagery collection for photography or orthomosaic maps, and night vision.
