New Russian naval MiG-29KUB aircraft began to fly in Yeisk

MiG-29KUB in Yeysk (Krasnodar Krai)

The Russian Defence Minister  General of the Army Sergei Shoigu has arrived in Yeysk (Krasnodar Krai) in the course of his working trip to the Southern MD troops. The Head of the military department will inspect construction process of facilities of the Centre for combat training of piloting staff of the naval aviation of the Russian Navy.

In particular, the Head of the military department will inspect construction process of the command-dispatching centre, block of aircraft arresting gears and ski-ramp area of the ground test training complex of the ship aviation. The Defence Minister will assess its capabilities during training flight of MiG-29K.

The MiG-29KUB  aircraft are the “4++” generation multi-role fighters intended for air-defense missions of naval forces, air superiority gaining, sea & ground targets destruction with the high precision guided weapons day and night and in any weather conditions.

The MiG-29K/KUB carrier-based fighters are the basic aircraft of a new unified family including also the MiG-29M/M2 and MiG-35/MiG-35D aircraft.

The MiG-29K/KUB aircraft are based on the aircraft-carriers with tonnage from 28,000 tons, equipped with take-off ramp and landing arrestor, as well as at the airfields.
