The new Ukraine-made “Vilkha” high-precision rockets system successfully completed a series of state tests, the press service of the SE “State Kyiv Design Bureau “Luch” reporting.
On 25 April, was conducted the final testing of the “Vilkha” high-precision rockets system in the south of the Kherson region. President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko, military leaders, experts, and military attaches from 7 countries who expressed their interest in negotiating the acquisition of new, powerful Ukrainian weapons, were present at the tests.
Petro Poroshenko noted that the production of new high-precision weapons had been organized in such a short term for the first time.
“Only two years ago, the NSDC made a decision to begin the missile program and today, we have finished testing. The missile will be added to the armory,” the President said. He reminded that before 2014, the capabilities of the AFU and the missile complex had been destroyed, production had been eliminated.
“We have paid a very high price for that. Now, the enemy knows the potential of the Ukrainian defense-industrial complex, the Ukrainian Army. I can tell one specific figure: this missile is 10 times more precise and, accordingly, 10 times more efficient than the old multiple-launch rocket systems that have been in service since the Soviet Union times,” the Head of State emphasized.
Together with the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko, the representatives of embassies of Poland, Azerbaijan, Vietnam, Indonesia and other countries were watching for the firing tests. Foreign delegations showed great interest in the new high-precision weapons of Ukraine and were impressed by its power and accuracy.
Depending on the tasks, new Vilkha high-precision rockets (caliber 300 mm) can affect both ground and water targets. They are completely made from Ukrainian components at the enterprises of the Ukrainian defence industry.
