KADDB unveils new Al-Faris armored vehicle at Sofex-2018

The King Abdullah II Design and Development Bureau (KADDB) has designed and built the Al-Faris 6×6 armored vehicle and showcased it for the first time at the International Special Operations Forces Exhibition and Conference SOFEX 2018 in Jordan. 

The Al-Faris armored vehicle with advanced ballistic and blast protection can be used as a platoon strength troop carrier, 8 dismounts and a commander, driver and also gunner. It can also be configured as a command and control platform, forward observation vehicle (FOO) or in a convoy support role.

The new Al-Faris armored vehicle is based on a Volat 6×6  cross-country chassis and equipped with Cummins engine coupled to an Allison transmission.

The prototype of the Al-Faris displayed at the Sofex-2018 had a latest Snake Head turret armed with two .50  machine guns for increased firepower, with each weapon provided with 200 rounds of ready-use ammunition.

The vehicle has good ballistic protection and can protect against mine strikes and IED blast also can be fitted with ceramic or composite plates for even greater protection.
