India plans to offer LCH helicopters to Vietnam

State-owned Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) plans to revive previously held discussions with Vietnam officials on sale of Advanced Light Helicopter «Dhruv» Helicopters and also plans to offer Light Combat Helicopter (LCH) which is still under development but lately has been generating lot of interest from various countries due to its cheaper price tags and its ability to perform exceptionally well in higher altitudes.

LCH is a 5.5-tonne class combat helicopter designed and developed by HAL. While the Army has placed an order for 114 with state-run Hindustan Aeronautics Limited, the IAF has ordered 65. The helicopter is designed to carry out dedicated combat roles such as air defence, anti-tank, scout and support combat search /rescue missions.

According to a PTI report, India  also in talks with “certain” countries in Africa for possible export of the LCH.
