Helibras rolls out first Exocet-armed H225M helicopter for Brazil Navy

Helibras and Airbus Helicopters has unveiled the first H225M helicopter armed with MBDA AM39 B2M2 Exocet anti-ship missiles for Brazilian navy. That was reported by www.naval.com.br.

Helibras opened the doors of its plant on Tuesday, 25, to the flight presentation of the first armed H225M of the Brazilian navy. The BRA-05 prototype has the Tactical System of Naval Mission, developed by Helibras especially for Navy missions, APS-143 patrol radar, Chaff & Flare system of countermeasures and intelligence system with two Exocet AM39 B2M2 missile last generation.

On 22 April Brazil’s Avibras signed a contract covering the local development and production of rocket motors for the MBDA AM39 Exocet anti-ship missiles which will equip eight of the 16 EC725s to be operated by the Brazilian navy.

The Exocet  is a French-built anti-ship missile whose various versions can be launched from surface vessels, submarines, helicopters and fixed-wing aircraft.
