France’s third FREMM frigate ready for sea trials

The French Navy’s third FREMM multi-mission combat frigate, the FS Languedoc (D653), has been floated out from DCNS’ Lorient shipyard to undergo sea trials off the coast of Brittany, France. The FS Languedoc is the third FREMM vessel ordered by OCCAR on behalf of the French defence procurement agency (DGA).

The main objective of the sea trials was to test the performance of the vessel’s propulsion and navigation system.

DCNS has already delivered two Aquitaine-class FREMM frigates to the French Navy.
