Elbit Systems awarded a contract to deliver Two Color Laser System to Raytheon

Elbit Systems announced on 3 January that its subsidiary, Elbit Systems of America LLC, was awarded a contract by Raytheon Company to provide the Laser System (TCLS) for the Multi-Spectral Targeting System.

Under the contract, Elbit Systems of America will provide TCLS for installation on Raytheon’s Multi-Spectral Targeting System (MTS).

Elbit Systems of America president and CEO Raanan Horowitz said: “The Two Color Laser System provides increased targeting accuracy and flexibility, minimising the potential for collateral damage. These attributes are key to US warfighters who depend on these systems for a successful mission.”

Financial details of the contract were not disclosed by Elbit Systems, which noted ‘the initial contract is in an amount not material to’ it.

The initial contract is in an amount not material to Elbit Systems and will be performed during 2019.

TCLS is a production component within the electro-optical surveillance system for multiple military airborne platforms, including the next-generation targeting systems onboard unmanned aerial vehicles.
