The Egyptian Ministry of Defence is looking to increase the size of its self-propelled artillery fleet.

The Egyptian military issued a request for proposals for the acquisition of the modern 155mm self-propelled artillery systems to France, Russia, South Africa and South Korea. Egypt reportedly plans to complete performance evaluations of the howitzers by the end of the year and sign a deal at the beginning of next year.

According to local media, the South Korea’s K-9 Thunder howitzer and French Caesar truck-mounted artillery system already were arrived in Egypt for testing trials.
