The Danish government has declared its commitment to providing Ukraine with a new military aid package worth 3.7 billion Danish kroner, which is approximately $520 million.

This aid package was formulated following a meeting between the Defense Ministers of Denmark and Ukraine.

According to a statement from the Danish Ministry of Defense, the aid package includes T-72EA tanks, BMP-2 infantry fighting vehicles, artillery ammunition, drones, small arms, and armored recovery and evacuation vehicles. The funding for the latter is a joint effort with Germany.

The statement emphasized that the equipment and ammunition in this package are in high demand in Ukraine and are vital for maintaining the combat readiness of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

Troels Lund Poulsen, the Danish Minister of Defense, highlighted that this aid reaffirms Denmark’s unwavering support for Ukraine in its fight for freedom. He mentioned that the aid package was devised after discussions with his Ukrainian counterpart, Rustem Umerov.

Lars Løkke Rasmussen, the Danish Minister of Foreign Affairs, stated, “Today’s assistance confirms that Ukraine can rely on Denmark’s steadfast support in its struggle for freedom. It also sends an important signal to both Ukraine and Russia that we remain attentive, even as much of the world’s focus is on Israel and Palestine in these days.”
