DefExpo 2018: Ashok Leyland showcases new Light Specialist Vehicle 4×4

Ashok Leyland, flagship of the Hinduja Group and the largest suppliers of logistics vehicles to the Indian Army showcased new Light Specialist Vehicle 4×4 at the ongoing DefExpo India 2018.

The  Light Specialist Vehicle 4×4 (LSV 4×4) is a light specialist troops mobility vehicle dedicated to operating in rough terrains under adverse weather conditions.

LSV 4×4  is a versatile platform developed specifically for specialist applications such as Reconnaissance, Quick Response & Patrol and counter-insurgency operations. It is designed for all-terrain mobility, armored protection, firepower for operating independently in the battlefield. It is the only vehicle, bullet protected on all four sides.

It is fitted with H6 engine develops 108 HP,  5-speed gearbox, independent suspended axle, hydraulic system that provides for excellent mobility and maneuverability with four sides protected for STANAG Level 1 armored cab.

The vehicle has a maximum gross vehicle weight of 5,500kg (Max 8), of which maximum payload is 1,000kg.
