The new FM-2000 air defense missile system will be unveiled during the upcoming AirShow China 2018 exhibition, which is set to take place in Zhuhai from 6–11 November.

It can intercept various fixed wings aircraft, armed helicopters, air-to-ground missiles and cruise missiles. It can operate during marching, with strong maneuvering, a multiple-target interception and strong maneuvering, multiple-target and strong anti-jamming capability.

The system can destroy moving enemy targets within the range of 15km and at altitudes from 10m to 1,000m.

It is worth noting that the new Chinese air defense missile system resemble very closely to Russian-made Tor-M2K on special wheeled chassis.

Just like a Chinese variant, the Tor system is a low- to medium-altitude, short-range surface-to-air missile system designed for intercepting aircraft, cruise missiles, precision-guided munitions, unmanned aerial vehicles and ballistic targets.
