Bogdan corporation unveils military truck assembly line

Ukraine automobile company, the Bogdan, has unveiled details of a new, military trucks assembly line in its automobile plants in Cherkasy. 

On 13 September, all stages of production of new Bogdan 6317 multi-purpose off-road military truck were demonstrated by the company during a press tour on his Cherkassy plant.

The journalists saw a full cycle of military truck production. Representatives of the manufacturer explained how quality control is taking place at each stage.

The new Bogdan 6317 military truck is intended to gradually replace Soviet-era Ural-375, Ural-4320, ZIL-131 and military modifications of KAMAZ in the service of the  Armed Forces of Ukraine. The new vehicles are a local variant of Belarus’s MAZ-6317 heavy utility truck.

The Bogdan 6317 is intended to transport troops and military supplies over all kinds of roads. The vehicle has a payload capacity of 11 000 kg. It can also tow trailers or artillery pieces.

The Ukrainian variant is powered by a Weichai Power turbo-charged diesel engines, developing 380 hp.

The truck is capable of speeding up to 85 km/h with a cargo of 11 tons and has a power reserve of 1447 km.  It can carry 50 people in the equipped body, tow transport trailers by roads of all categories with a hard and a ground covering, and also in off-road conditions.  Each machine is provided with a 10-year warranty from the manufacturer.
