Ukraine at Eurosatory 2018

The Eurosatory 2018 expo opened its doors today in a Parisian suburb of Villepinte, occupying a vast space of two huge halls for the exhibitors and the visitors. Ukraine is among 19 states having a national pavilion presented at this year’s Eurosatory edition. Such countries as the United States, the United Kingdom, Turkey, Pakistan, China, Poland and even Bosnia and Herzegovina have their own national pavilions at the expo.

Ukraine’s stand is located in the Hall 5A under the number H751 and hosts the national giant UkrOboronProm encompassing more than a hundred enterprises of Ukrainian national defense industry, including Ukrinmash, State Kyiv Design Bureau “Luch” and others.

One of the main showpieces is the light portable missile system “Corsar”, that was designed and produced by the State Kyiv Design Bureau “Luch” and put into service with the Ukrainian army in August 2017. The Corsar has the maximum firing range of 2500 m and weights 9.2 kg (15.4 kg with the missile in a container).

Another interesting piece is a new UAV “Spectator” UAS-MP-1/563, developed by the PJSC “Meridian”. This new Ukrainian UAV started its surveillance missions with the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine in 2017 helping to better control the border between Ukraine and Russia as well as the contact zone in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions.

Ukraine’s defense industry has also pleased us with the guided artillery projectile with laser semi-active homing guidance “Kvitnyk-E”. It is a high-explosive ammunition with semiautomatic laser self-homing head, designed for 152 and/or 155 mm gauge artillery systems, produced by the state-owned enterprise “Progress”. The Kvitnyk can be fired at the distance of up to 20 km.
