Turkish defence giant ASELSAN has entered into an agreement with Ukrainian defence company SpecTechnoExprt and LUCH to co-operate on the development of modern rocket launcher system for light armored vehicles.
According to the ASELSAN’s statement Thursday, Ukrainian-made Skif missile was successfully integrated into ASELSAN’s rocket launcher system.
ASELSAN and Ukrainian defence company LUCH have been working on the integration for the last six months.
The system has passed two tests, successfully hitting targets at a range of 5 kilometers (3.1 miles).
The system’s feature lies in its possibility to aim the missiles at a target from closed emplacements and shelters that reduces the risk of the gunner destruction by reply fire attack of the enemy.
Defense company ASELSAN designs, develops and manufactures military communication systems, radar and electronic warfare systems, electro-optical systems and defense and weapon systems for the Turkish military, in addition to exports abroad.
