Russian airborne troops commissions new Leer-2 electronic warfare systems

Leer-2 electronic warfare system

Russian airborne troops, based in Ulyanovsk, formally commissioned its new Leer-2 electronic warfare systems.

The Leer-2 is a jamming system based on Tigr armoured vehicle and capable of imitating electronic weapon systems and monitoring the electromagnetic environment during combat training.

The Leer-2 is designed for developing radio emitters, jamming and suppressing radio-electronic means including cellular phone systems. In addition, the system can be used as part of field tests to create realistic tactical electronic situations and imitating the operation of various radio-electronic systems.
