Active stage of the Russian-Indian exercise Indra 2016 finished in the Primorsky Krai

The active stage of the Russian-Indian exercise Indra 2016 finished at the Sergeyevsky in the Primorsky Krai.

The joint grouping of the Russian and Indian troops has practiced blocking and elimination of simulated illegal armed formations.

A Russian tank company equipped with T-72B tanks, compounded motorized rifle and reconnaissance units on infantry fighting vehicles captured a place of arms in the assigned zone and eliminated simulated illegal armed formations supported by army aviation represented by Mi-8AMTSh, Ka-52 helicopters and Su-25 attack aircraft as well as by tube artillery, multiple rocket launch systems and mortars.

At the exercise, two motorized rifle companies, a tank company, a platoon of flamethrower systems, as well as a mortar, howitzer and reactive artillery batteries, represented the Eastern MD. A motorized rifle battalion consisting of 250 people represented the Armed Forces of India.

In total, the exercise was participated by over 500 servicemen and up to 50 pieces of military hardware including combat vehicles, UAVs, as well as the army and reconnaissance aviation of the Eastern MD.

The closing ceremony of the Russian-Indian exercise Indra 2016 will take place on October 1.
