Ukrainian technology company IXIAN has introduced a new robotic engineering system designed for battlefield recovery and heavy-duty technical operations.
The platform, based on the company’s Terrikon-X unmanned vehicle, has been upgraded with a manipulator arm capable of clearing debris and conducting engineering tasks remotely.
According to IXIAN, the Terrikon-X platform can carry a payload exceeding 300 kilograms and perform various engineering functions, including lifting heavy loads, removing debris, and recovering damaged vehicles or other robotic systems from the battlefield. The addition of a precision manipulator expands the vehicle’s role from transport and logistics to field engineering and recovery missions.
The new drone configuration was developed to perform complex engineering tasks at a safe distance, allowing operators to conduct clearance, lifting, and evacuation operations in high-risk areas without endangering personnel. The platform’s remote-control capability enables operation from beyond the range of direct enemy fire, enhancing both crew safety and mission efficiency.
IXIAN says the robotic system is powered by an electric drive with an operational range of up to 40 kilometers on a single charge and a top speed of around 15 kilometers per hour. The system’s modular design allows different payloads to be mounted depending on mission requirements, including tools for engineering, logistics, or evacuation support.
The robotic vehicle can also be used to recover light vehicles and other unmanned platforms from the battlefield.
