Ukraine launches security exercises ahead of Eurovision Song Contest 2017 in Kyiv

Ukraine’s Police and National Guard launched a series of security exercises with a focus on anti-terrorism security during the Eurovision Song Contest 2017 in Kyiv.

Special tactic exercises on security during Eurovision-2017 international song contest concluded in the training center of National Guard in Novi Petrivtsi. 600 law enforcement officers and 50 vehicle unites of the National Police, National Guard, State Border Guard and State Emergency Service were used in the final phase. Trainings went under the leadership of Serhiy Yarovyi, the first deputy Minister of Internal Affairs. This was reported by the press service of Ukraine’s Internal Ministry.

Law enforcement officers practiced the tactics of actions to suppress group violations of public order, practical actions of firefighting and rescue units, exercise in Boryspil airport during the arrival of the official delegations, unblocking roads and rescuing hostages captured by potential terrorists.
