New Mi-17-V5 helicopters officially handed over to the Serbian Air Force

Two new Mi-17-V5 helicopters officially handed over to the Serbian Air Force at Batajnica Air Base  is a military air base in Serbia, that reported by novosti.rs.

The ceremony in Batajnica was led by commander of air force and air defence, major general Ranko Zivak who has saluted the crew of the first Mi-17 V5 helicopter.

General Zivak wished the crew safe flights underlining that this was historic day for them but also for Serbian Army and its air force and air defence.

Lieutenant colonel Miroslav Zecevic, commander of the 890 combined helicopter squadron said that the new aircrafts would improve operational capability and training of his unit.

The agreement was signed in September 2015 and was fulfilled on time.  In addition to the manufacturing of helicopters, it also provided for retraining pilots of the Serbian air force and technical personnel.
