Iraqi Mi-35 helicopter launching airstrikes on the areas surrounding the city of Ramadi.

The Iraqi army says it is close to completely recapturing the provincial capital of Ramadi from Islamic State after months of fighting, in what has become a war of attrition for the city that was the biggest prize taken by the terrorist group this year.

The Mi-35 is  export versions of Mil Mi-24 and carried  S-8 rocket launchers and 9M120 (Shtrum-M) Ataka-V ATGMs (Air To Ground Missiles).

The Mi-35 is a large helicopter gunship, attack helicopter and low-capacity troop transport with room for eight passengers.
