The Houthi forces claims their fighters shot down an MQ-9 Reaper unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) over the northern Yemen province of Marib.

Iranian state media claims that Houthi forces shot down an unmanned aerial vehicle of Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) of the United States federal government. According to local activists, the Houthi forces shot down the plane with a guided missile as it was flying over the town of Al-Manin, which is located south of Marib’s provincial capital.

According to Yemeni military sources, the unmanned aerial vehicle was shot down while engaged in operations over the province’s Sirwah district.

At the crash site found the wreckage of the unmanned aerial vehicle with fragments looks to be a U.S.-built Hellfire missile possibly from a US MQ-1 Predator or MQ-9 Reaper drone.
