Blue Angels F-18 has crashed in Smyrna, Tennessee

One is confirmed dead in a US Navy Blue Angels jet crash at Smyrna Airport in Tennessee, according to WKRN. A giant explosion was seen near and far.

Vanderbilt University Medical Center has dispatched LifeFlight helicopters to the scene, WKRN reported. The Blue Angels are set to perform at the airport this weekend on June 4 and 5 as part of The Great Tennessee Airshow.

Emily Luxen of WTVF reported confirming with Rutherford County EMA that one person was killed in the crash. WKRN soon followed up with their own confirmed report of one dead.
