On July 12, in the framework of Sea Breeze 2017 multinational exercise, service members worked out elements of practical diving, victims evacuation and medical aid, land search, EOD operations, search operations and shipboard damage control.

A group of Ukrainian, the U.S., the UK, and Romanian divers worked out joint actions under the NATO standards.

“Normally, the NATO divers work with risks minimization. The up-to-date equipment helped exercise participants to find and define hazards, even use remote robots. The Ukrainian divers will use this experience during their operations”, Capt 2nd Rank Olexiy Nestierov, Chief of SAR operations, Ukrainian Navy.

More than 30 ships, hovercraft and support vessels, over 25 aircraft and more than 3,000 servicemen from 16 countries, including Ukraine, will be participating in the Sea Breeze 2017 exercise. Ukraine has assigned units of the Navy, the National Guard, the State Border Service, the Ground Forces, the Air Force and the Engineering Forces to the Sea Breeze drills.
