Russia unveils new Vikhr unmanned ground vehicle with 57mm automatic gun

Russian defence companies have revealed the new version of  Vikhr unmanned ground vehicle equipped with a new turret armed with a 57mm automatic cannon.

The Vikhr is remotely controlled reconnaissance vehicle which can be used to engage ground and aerial targets. The new unmanned ground vehicle based on Russian-made BMP-3 infantry fighting vehicle and armed with a stabilised 57mm automatic.

According to official data, Vikhr unmanned ground vehicle with 57mm automatic gun can run at a maximum speed of 60 km/hr with a maximum cruising range of 600 km. It is fully amphibious, propelled in the water by two water-jets at the rear of the hull at a maximum speed of 10 km/h.

The unmanned ground vehicle is equipped with a sight unit, comprising a combined sight with thermal-imaging and TV channels, a laser-finder and independent dual-axis field of view stabilization. The 57mm gun with the AP round has a penetration capability of 130mm of Steel at a range of 1.000m.
